News from the Harvest field! The beginning of a New Year always brings reflection! Looking back to see what has been accomplished for His glory is good, but looking forward with anticipation to what HE is going to accomplish is exciting!
The past three months have been busy with supply deliveries, both coming and going! We have been blessed this year as God has allowed us to purchase an increased amount of supplies, and we, along with our co-laborers in the warehouse ministry, the Eatons, have been able to make several deliveries this quarter. Our travel has spanned several states! The Western Baptist Missions Warehouse ministry continues to grow, and we continue to be amazed at God’s provision! Just this quarter, we received thousands of pounds of supplies/groceries, which will provide help to many missionary families, who will face difficult months through the harsh winter. We appreciate Anchor Baptist Missions International and their warehouse for coordinating our shipments, and Rescue America Baptist Missions for provision and the transportation of these goods. Our thanks to our co-laborer in ministry, Evangelist Harlan Barnett, for his diligent burden in helping us raise funds for our 2014 Christmas drive! Through his burden, and the generosity of those churches and individuals who gave, this year’s Christmas drive was a great success!
We are also thrilled to announce that the heating system in the Warehouse is nearing completion and it couldn’t come at a better time, with winter’s frigid temperatures upon us! God has been faithful to send in the funds for this project, with the exception of an approximately $400 needed for completion. We are trusting Him to meet this need!
We are very excited, that during this quarter, our brochure for the Western Baptist Missions Warehouse was completed and produced! A special thanks to Evangelist Bobby Johnston for his diligent work on this project. The Lord graciously provided the funding for this project, and we are very thankful for that!
Prairie View Baptist Church
This quarter was a time of great encouragement and sadness for the church. It was our great privilege and joy to have Bro. Duane Moore and his family with us for our fall revival services, November 16-19. What a needed time of refreshing for the church! We also had the Teddy Angel family, missionaries from Florissant, CO, with us. They provided music for us during the meeting and we had the privilege of traveling to Florissant just after Thanksgiving to visit with them, deliver supplies, and I was graciously given the opportunity to preach for Bro. Angel during that time.
It is with great sadness that we said farewell to our church pianist, Mrs. Martha Smoot, on Christmas Eve, as she departed this world and went to heaven! She was a great asset to our church and will be sorely missed. It was my privilege to assist in her funeral, the first since I surrendered to preach in March of this past year.
We were able to provide, thanks to Rescue America Baptist Missions, Mrs. Ree Browning and her ministry through AVON, gifts of handmade hats and scarves from Mrs. Elsie Wilson, who was promoted to glory in December, gifts from the church, and the hard work of the ladies, a wonderful Christmas for our church children and nursing home/retirement home ministries! The ladies assembled and wrapped some 80+ gifts this year for distribution. We went Christmas caroling at the nursing facility and the hospital this year and were more blessed than those we sang to!
Please pray for the Spiritual growth of those who regularly attend our services. Our heart’s desire is to see growth in the church! We continue to pray for the salvation of those who are visiting our services there!
